How much does a limo cost in Toronto?

There is no single number, but there is a clear structure. The four pricing models, and how to tell which one you are being quoted.

Nobody can give you a single figure for "a limo in Toronto" because the term covers a stretch limousine for a prom, a sedan to Pearson and a coach for a wedding. What we can do is explain how the pricing works, so you can read a quote properly and compare like with like.

The four models

  • Point to point. A fixed fare between two addresses. Used for airport transfers and straightforward journeys. Priced on distance, vehicle class and time of day.
  • Hourly, as directed. You hold the car and chauffeur for a block of time and go where you like. Priced per hour with a minimum. Used for events, tours, roadshows and nights out.
  • Flat intercity. A single agreed price for a long run such as Toronto to Ottawa. Includes tolls, the return leg where relevant, and driver hours.
  • Retainer. A monthly programme with a dedicated chauffeur and a contracted band of hours.

What moves the number

Vehicle class first — sedan, SUV, van, Sprinter, stretch, coach, in roughly that order of cost. Then duration or distance. Then date and time: a peak Saturday in wedding season or New Year's Eve is a different market from a Tuesday in March. Then the extras that are genuinely optional, such as meet-and-greet at an airport or a child seat.

How to read a quote

Ask one question: what is not included? A quote that covers vehicle, chauffeur, fuel and tolls is comparable to another quote on the same basis. A lower number that excludes fuel surcharge, tolls, waiting and administration fees is not a lower price, it is a different quote. We set out exactly what sits inside ours in what an all-inclusive fare includes.

The things that should never appear afterwards

Surge pricing for weather or demand, a fuel surcharge applied after the trip, or a route dispute at the destination. None of those exist on a properly quoted booking.
